Our sportfishing vessels
“The biggest sportfishing fleet in Sri Lanka”
For over two decades, our CEO Suresh De Mel has been investing in sport fishing boats, which allows us to have a fleet of 6 boats distributed as follows :
2 Freshwater boats of 16ft
4 Saltwater boats from 26ft to 37ft
Most of our boats have been build in Sri Lanka, only three are from overseas. They are all running with outboard engines, mainly from the Yamaha and Suzuki brands.
Our Freshwater boats
Barra boats
We have three locals made 16ft bass boat called Barra boats. These boats were the first proper speed boat to fish at Bolgoda Lake. They are very stable and offer a great platform at the bow to cast lures or to do fly fishing.
We have recently refurbished one of them, which offer 2 nice casting platforms and 2 confortable seats. it’s powered with a 40 hp Mercury four strokes and has a 55lb Thruster electric motor to fish in the best conditions.
The two others will be soon refurbished with the same specifications at our boat yard located at Bolgoda Lake.
Sea Ark Mc Bass 160
Our last addition in our freshwater fleet is a proper 16ft aluminium bass boat from USA. Certainly the best boat in Sri Lanka to fish in freshwater. Powered with a 60hp Yamaha four strokes, this boat offer a smooth and fast ride to reach all good fishing spots at Bolgoda Lake. It has two large casting platforms, many storages, a live bait tank and a 55lb Thruster electric motor.
Our Saltwater boats
CITRUS - 26ft center console
Citrus has been our first sportfishing boat for saltwater. This mono hull from Viskund (Sri Lanka) has been the theatre of the biggest GT caught on popper in the sri lankan waters, with a fish over 50 kg caught in Trincomalee during an exploration trip and a monster GT over 60 kg in Kirinda.
Citrus took his retirement in 2014 when it has been replace with the arrival of No Limit. We are still looking to put it back in water for customers who want to cruise in a nice sri lankan lagoon.
RAMPAGEOUS - 31ft center console
Rampageous joined our fleet in 2013 to target Gt’s in the south coast. This mono hull from UAE powered with twin 200hp Yamaha has worked hard for us as we have running him till our 2017 season on the West coast.
During 5 years, this boat has seen more fish than any other sportfishing boat in Sri Lanka. During our off fishing season (May to October), he was used as a diving boat on the East coast in Nilaveli.
At the moment Rampageous is taking rest, till we find him a new sportfishing project.
NO LIMIT - 37ft center console
No Limit is a big girl of 37ft from UAE and our biggest sportfishing boat. This boat joined our fleet in 2014, it has fished the South coast and East coast during 4 years.
We have some new sportfishing projects coming for No Limit, but for now it take some rest.
DIVIYA - 30ft cuddy cabin power catamaran
Although we have Rampageous and No Limit available, we have made the decision to acquire Diviya to provide more comfort for our sport fishing charters on the West Coast. This new boat also allows us to offer all types of fishing with a single vessel. Powered with twin Yamaha four strokes this boat is also more economical to run and allows us to offer attractive prices.
We have been fishing for 5 seasons aboard Diviya and we congratulate ourself to have this boat every time we go out to sea.
